New Vessel Construction and Engineering

With the purchase of 110 acres of prime industrial waterfront property (former Delta Shipyard Facility), Elevating Boats, LLC expanded its operation into Houma, Louisiana, U.S.A. in 1991.  The facility is located on the Houma Navigation Canal which provides direct access to the Gulf of Mexico with no overhead restrictions.  This wide channel provides for easy transport of EBI's new class of large liftboats.

EBI® Houma's primary focus is new vessel construction, but it also performs maintenance support for the many liftboats in the fleet, which operate in the Houma area.  EBI® Houma with accessible and calm dockside work areas allows all vessels which enter the EBI® fleet to be inspected for initial inclining, and dead weight survey.  Each vessel will receive a Certificate of Inspection upon completion of these tests.

EBI® Houma also has the equipment to shear, form, and fabricate very large weldments and vessels which greatly enhances the company's ability to build the products necessary to operate in deep waters.  EBI® Houma also performs many metal forming services for local businesses.  Some examples: crimping or corrugating bulkhead, flange plate, knuckles, rub-rails, and pipe rails for the marine repair industry; rolling large diameter cylinders for tanks or platform components; and crimping and forming materials for cane trailers built for the local sugar cane industry.
