Elevating Boats LLC. (EBI®) had it's start in business in 1949 as "Universal Repair Service". The concept of a liftboat originated from Lynn and Orin Dean in 1955 (with the first vessel being built in 1957). Since then Elevating Boats LLC. has been continuously improving, building, and operating liftboats. EBI® now manufactures offshore liftboats, pedestal cranes, gearboxes, hydraulic winches, power-take-offs, hydraulic cylinders and many other mechanical and hydraulic components in the global market. EBI® has a fabrication facility located in Braithwaite, Louisiana, U.S.A., where pedestal cranes and hydraulic cylinders are manufactured. New vessel construction and engineering are performed at EBI's facilities on the Houma Navigational Canal in Houma, Louisiana, U.S.A. Vessel repair and metal forming are performed at both the Braithwaite and Houma facilities.
